Foods You Should Avoid As Much As Possible

When it comes to eating, there is a saying that goes like there are two types of people in this world, who live to eat and who eat to live. Both of these policies are not what we should adhere to, instead one should eat in order to keep his/her body with the necessary minerals and vitamins while keeping it healthy so it performs efficiently. While it’s the taste that please our mouth but it’s the quality and nutrients that matter the most because when it comes to food, things aren’t always what they seem to be and one needs to be careful while choosing food. Below are foods that you should avoid eating as much as you can for they will harm you in the long term.

1. Chips

Starting with one of the most eaten snack and one of the most fat-filled, unhealthy carbs which are really bad for your body and the fact that they are addictive makes it really hard for people to stop eating fat-dense snack. While most of us are aware of the fact that chips are mostly fats but shockingly enough, that’s not the worst or the only downside of eating chips. Potato chips contain something called acrylamide which unfortunately is a carcinogen produced in foods that are formed when food is baked or fried at high temperatures. Acrylamide is responsible for causing cancer in thousands of people per year.

2. Processed Fruit Juices

Even though you might believe that fruit juices are healthy, but as mentioned above, things aren’t always what they seem to be. It may be true that juices have some amount of vitamin C and antioxidants but compared to the excessive sugar and the fact that most of the essential fiber that a fruit contains is depleted during the process, the cons outweigh the pros.

3. Soda or Soft Drinks

The reason behind sugar drinks being a debatable topic everywhere is that they pack a lot of calories and what makes it worse in that when you consume a soda, your brain doesn’t register the sugar calories as food thus people don’t eat less to compensate for the excessive calories which drastically increases their calorie intake. But that’s not the only downside of sugary drinks, chugging soda in large quantities can make you prone to liver diseases and pancreatic cancer and if one consumes a lot of sugary drinks on daily basis then it increases the chances of death by cardiovascular diseases and possibility of getting type 2 diabetes.

4. Vegetable Oils

At first thought, one would certainly feel what harm could an oil do if it’s produce from vegetables? Well that’s not the case, most of the processed oils are and they contain omega-6 fatty acids in drastic quantities and during production, they are subjected to high levels of rancidity. These oils have been known to kill essential nutrients in your body while causing liver damage which might eventually lead to cancer.

5. White Bread

You should never have this type of bread in your house. First of all bread is made from wheat which contains gluten, which is harmful for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity but white bread is even unhealthy for people who do tolerate gluten. That’s because white bread is made from refined wheat which lacks all the nutrition. White bread is also full of sugar and eating it can lead to random spikes in blood sugar.
