Usually we eat chicken breasts when we’re on a diet – and that means we do it to stay slim and healthy but not to please ourselves. This post reveals some secrets of cooking chicken breasts that will turn them into one of your favorite meals!
Chicken breasts are, on the one hand, a very healthy and low-calorie choice, but on the other hand, sometimes they can seem tasteless and dull. Bot not so many people know that a few simple hacks can make chicken breasts suitable even for a special occasion.
How to prepare
Buy only chilled chicken breasts, not frozen ones! The breasts might taste like “rubber” after freezing.
Beat the meat off with a mallet or tenderizer if you are not going to boil it. It will make the chicken softer.
How to fry
You can fry the chicken as it is but it will taste better if you marinate it or put it into solinade beforehand. We recommend trying solinade as it will make the meat juicier. To make a solinade, boil some water with salt, sugar and your favorite spices, cool it down and place the chicken into it. Leave it for 3 hours.
Bread the chicken breasts – it will prevent the juice from coming out of the meat while frying. Just roll them in flour, dip the breasts into a beaten egg with salt and pepper and sprinkle them with bread crumbs.
Fry the chicken no more than 6-8 minutes and leave it for 5 minutes covered with a plate before serving.
How to bake
When baking, the main principle applies – do not bake the chicken for too long: 12 minutes at 320° F is long enough! The best option is to cook it in a baking sleeve. Just smear the meat with oil and add some salt and spices.
Another way is to bake the breasts with cream and berries. Fry them in a hot pan for less than a minute and put into a baking dish. Add warm cream and berries. Do not forget about salt!
How to boil
The first option is to steam the chicken. It will allow you to cook the chicken without using oil and makes the meat very soft. Depending of the size it will be ready in 15-25 minutes.
Another method is to boil the meat in a pan. In this case it would be better to use vegetable broth instead of water. Boil it for 5-10 minutes, turn the stove off and leave the chicken in the pan at least 15 minutes before serving.
